Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveller, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;

Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,

And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.

I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I—
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference

           Robert Frost

I remember a Professor at school being able to quote this from his memory. There I sat in a class full of people who were ready to go “change the world”, as I sat pondering these words my heart simply prayed Lord let me choose the road less traveled. Lord I want your way not my own. I don’t want the way of the American Dream. I don’t want the “5 year plan of this and that”. I don’t want the way “men” have done it. It isn’t that that way is bad, I just don’t desire to seek out my own way. The world says to make your own way. Stab people in the back to climb the ladder of the corporation. I am not against nice homes and nice cars I desire those things. I just don’t desire to do it the way the world does it.  I just desire to not live a life of my own, promoting myself. I really desire for my life to be surrendered to the One who made me. If He can make me, He can make a way for me. Today My heart is overwhelmed in the goodness that my eyes have seen and it is expectant of the goodness that is in front of me. So today I trust. I trust that God is in every detail of my life and I surrender to His plan. He is for me! He is able! He is the author of my faith! This is all on Him.  I can trust that! He has never let me down!

Today I pray that whatever season you find yourself in, that you would surrender! There is a power in a life that is lived in surrender. I know that we all struggle with control but I promise that if you place your trust in Jesus, He will not let you down. So let go of all your holding on to and take Him on. Let the water of the word wash over you today! 🙂
